CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University School of Law and Intercollegiate Athletics are now accepting applications for a Law School Externship in the Saluki Athletic Compliance Office.
Saluki Athletics provides two externships each academic year to second or third-year law students, who meet the externship requirements established by the SIU School of Law. The primary purpose of this externship is to provide students with first-hand experience in NCAA Division I athletic administration.
The externship is for academic credit only and no financial compensation will be provided.
"We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the SIU School of Law and participate in their externship placement program. Our first extern, Brady Barke, was recently hired as the Assistant Athletic Director at Southeast Missouri State University. It is our hope that we will continue to foster opportunities for future athletic administrators."
More information about the externships, along with the application can be found under the Inside Athletics pull-down menu on the front page of the Saluki Athletics website (www.siusalukis.com).
