Can you bring us up to date on men's basketball recruiting?

Coach Hinson and his staff have signed two players this spring -- guards Jalen Pendleton and Anthony Beane, Jr. While recruiting is never an exact science, I know they feel confident both players can develop into solid MVC-caliber guards. Jalen is a two-sport star from Evansville who some compare to a young Darren Brooks. Anthony is the son of our new assistant coach, Anthony Beane, Sr., who has obviously been instrumental in his development, and it's nice to have a coach's son on the team. The basketball program has one open scholarship, and Coach Hinson has told me they are looking for a front court player, or they may hold onto the scholarship until the fall.

Why are you not doing the basketball camp for younger boys (age K-2nd) this summer? My son attended last summer and absolutely loved it!

With a new basketball staff just arriving, the coaches made the decision to keep it simple this summer and only offer one camp, which is open to any child entering grades 3-through-8. I'm glad to hear your son enjoyed the camp last summer, and I'll let Coach Hinson know that there is interest in a camp for young children.
