Saluki Athletics announced Thursday it surpassed its goal of 10 percent growth in the Saluki Athletic Scholarship Fund (SASF) for fiscal year 2006, which ended June 30.
The fund now stands at more than $550,000, a 97 percent increase since its inception in fiscal year 2003.
"We're truly grateful to all of our friends, fans and loyal alumni for their support," said Tommy Bell, director of athletic development . "With the tremendous growth of the SASF, Saluki Athletics has been able to provide more opportunities for all its student-athletes."
"The growth of the SASF is another example of our fans and alumni stepping up to support our fine athletic programs," Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement Rickey McCurry said. "We're proud of this success and intend to build upon it as we seek support for the Saluki Way campaign."
