CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Saluki Athletics and the Missouri Valley Conference have announced Friday that they will stream live content from the MVC Basketball Tipoff media day at Loyola on Oct. 30.
The event will consist of over four hours of continuous live coverage streamed for free on Saluki All-Access and produced by Saluki Video Services.
Saluki Video Services, instituted in 2010 and directed by Chris Hagstrom, has grown exponentially since its inception and now offers daily content on SIUSalukis.com such as the Saluki Spotlight and This Week in Saluki Athletics -- in addition to its live coverage of SIU sporting events and press conferences.
"With the ever increasing world of digital content, we are very fortunate to have Saluki Video Services at Southern Illinois University," said SIU Director of Athletics Mario Moccia. "Saluki All-Access is a tremendous advantage for our department both internally for recruiting and externally for fan content."
The program will be hosted by Braden Pretzsch of Saluki Video Services and will feature a lineup of guests that include top MVC officials, coaches, student-athletes and national college basketball analysts. MVC Commissioner Doug Elgin's State of the Valley address will be streamed, as will a one-on-one interview immediately after. Included in the guest list are Saluki Hall of Fame broadcaster Mike Reis, SIU women's basketball play-by-play announcer Bryce Williams, SIU head coaches Barry Hinson and Cindy Stein, Wichita State head coach Gregg Marshall and Loyola head coach Sheryl Swoopes.
In addition to the coverage provided by Saluki All-Access, the Valley will stream an interactive social media question-and-answer session with MVC student-athletes, hosted by SIU radio and television student Anthony Giase.
"This is an exciting opportunity not only for Saluki Video Services, but for the University and the Missouri Valley Conference as a whole to gain this kind of exposure," Moccia concluded.
"It's very exciting what Saluki Video Services is doing for Southern Illinois," said Derrick Docket, MVC Assistant Commissioner of New Media and Technology. "Chris Hagstrom and his staff have always done outstanding work and it will be exciting to have them cover the 2013 Missouri Valley Conference Basketball Tipoff event. We're all looking forward to the upcoming season of men's and women's basketball and this additional coverage to start the season is always welcome."
The MVC Basketball Tipoff Show will begin at 9:45 a.m. on Oct. 30.
