Q: Has there ever been any thought to having an alumni Dawg Pound for basketball and football games? As an alum and now season ticket holder, I think it would be amazing if there was something set up so that those who were Dawg Pound members as students could continue that as alumni.

A: This suggestion has never been discussed but I will make sure Chet Savage, our Deputy Director of Athletics, discusses this concept with the external staff and see if we can incorporate this into our program. Specific seats are currently held in football and basketball for current students who are paying a student fee, of which the athletic department receives a portion, so we would have to be mindful to not cut into their allotment but will give this idea consideration. Thanks.

Q: Will Paul McIntosh be allowed a medical redshirt for this past season, which would give him two more years of eligibility?

A: Unfortunately, he will not be able to receive a medical redshirt. In speaking to Dan Rohrer, our Assistant AD for Compliance, he reiterated that a student-athlete has five-consecutive calendar years to use four seasons of eligibility. In order to get a sixth year, a student-athlete must have lost two seasons for a reason out of his or her control (injury, family tragedy, etc). A regular redshirt is considered to be within a student-athlete's control, so Paul only lost one season (this year) for a reason out of his control.

Q: How many years are remaining on the long-term contracts of head coaches Chris Lowery and Dale Lennon?

A: Coach Lennon has one year remaining on his original contract and Coach Lowery has two years remaining after this season.
