Whitney Howser

Position: Assistant Athletic Trainer

Whitney Howser has served as assistant athletic trainer for Saluki Athletics since 2009. She is the primary athletic trainer for the cross country and track and field teams and is the supervising athletic trainer for the volleyball team.

Howser is originally from Dixon, Mo., and earned a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training and Health Education from Central Methodist University. While at CMU, she competed on the volleyball and basketball teams.

She went on to earn her master's degree in Nutrition and Exercise Science at Southeast Missouri State University where she worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the softball, women's basketball, women's tennis and men's and women's cross country and track and field teams.

Howser is an avid runner who has competed in numerous races, including two half marathons and the 2010 Run Home for Kids Cardinals Care 6K at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, where she was the third overall female finisher.

Howser resides in Carbondale.
