Jeff Jones has served as a Coordinator of Academic Support for Saluki Athletics since August, 2009. Prior to his full-time appointment, Jones spent two years as a graduate assistant academic advisor.
Jones, who earned his bachelor of science degree in Commercial Recreation from SIU in 2006, was also a member of the Saluki football team. He was a team captain and key contributor on three Gateway Football Conference Championship teams from 2003 to 2005.
Jones earned his master's degree in Recreation Administration from Southern in 2008 and was named SIU's Graduate Student of the Year.
Prior to working at Southern, Jones spent two years as the recreation coordinator at the Boys and Girls Club of Carbondale where he administered a national program to address gang awareness through the Boys and Girls Club of America.
He is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics, the Minority Opportunities Athletic Administration and the Southern Illinois University Athletics Diversity Committee.
