    Lee Land has been a member of SIU's Sports Medicine staff since 2001, and was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director in charge of Sports Medicine in 2011.

    He supervises a training staff of three full-time assistants, five graduate assistants, and approximately 25 undergraduate athletic training students and athletic training aides.

    Land has served as the head football athletic trainer since 2003 and has also worked with baseball, volleyball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's golf, and the department's spirit groups during his tenure.

    In addition to his athletic training duties, Lee is an adjunct instructor and accredited clinical instructor in SIU's accredited Athletic Training Education program.

    Lee, a native of New Mexico, is a graduate of New Mexico State University, where he ran the 400m hurdles for the school's track team. He taught and coached at the high school level for two years before earning a degree in athletic training from the University of New Mexico. Land also worked at Drake University as a graduate assistant athletic trainer.

    Lee and his wife, Diane, reside in Carterville with their children, Shelby and Troy.
