Saluki Olympians wrap up action in London
LONDON - With the conclusion of the men's 10-kilometer open-water marathon today, the three Southern Illinois athletes competing in the London Olympics have wrapped up competition. Pamela Benitez (El Salvador), Mazen Aziz (Egypt) and Csaba Gercsak (Hungary) all competed in swimming for their respective countries.

Walker named Egyptian Olympic swim coach
Southern Illinois head swimming coach Rick Walker has been named the head coach for the Egyptian Olympic swimming team. Walker will coach former Saluki swimmer Mazen Aziz in the 10-kilometer open-water swim, an event added to the Olympics in 2008.

Wolfe completes action at U.S. Olympic Trials
Justin Wolfe finished action at the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials with an eighth-place finish in his heat of the 100-meter butterfly. Wolfe swam the long course in 56.27 seconds.

Three swimmers qualfy for 2012 Olympics
Three Southern Illinois swimmers have qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games for their respective countries. Pamela Benitez (El Salvador), Csaba Gercsak (Hungary) and Mazen Aziz (Egypt) will all compete in the 2012 London games.
