This game was played in a driving rain storm-marked by occasional hail, and was clearly the Andre Herrera Show. The senior All-American running back set the school record for rushing yards in one game, 319. He carried 35 times. Herrera rushed for 184 yards in the first quarter, breaking Mercury Morris' NCAA record for rushing yards in one quarter. His 85-yard first quarter run is the longest from scrimmage in SIU history (he did not score on the play).
