Saluki QB Kent Skornia passed 26 yards to 5-foot-8 WR Ray Barnes for the game winning TD. The Salukis led, 18-3, after the first period, however, the Redbirds scored the game's next 26 points and led SIU, 29-18, at the start of the fourth quarter. The Skornia-to-Barnes game-winning touchdown pass capped a seven-play, 80-yard drive, in which Skornia completed 5-of-7 passes.
