CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois football team will hold a tryout on Monday, August 22, for SIU students interested in joining the program. The team will hold an informational meeting for prospective student-athletes at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, August 21, in the Saluki football offices in the Boydston Center. The on-field workout will follow at Saluki Stadium at 4 p.m. on Monday, August 22.

All students participating in the tryout must complete a tryout physical and show proof of insurance before the date of football tryouts. If the student is chosen to walk on to the team, they must carry the SIU Student Health Insurance Plan through the Student Health Center. Candidates must be full-time students and be enrolled in at least 12 hours of undergraduate work.
