Southern Illinois Athletic Training A primary concern of Southern Illinois University Intercollegiate Athletics is the health and wellness of all student-athletes that practice and compete as Salukis, as well at those student-athletes that are visiting from other institutions. The athletic trainers, physicians, and athletic training students that make up the SIU Sports Medicine Staff strive to provide the best possible care for the student-athletes under our care. To help us achieve that goal we have included in this web site information for current and prospective SIU student-athletes, teams visiting SIU for competition, and SIU students interested in the SIU Athletic Training Education Program. Visiting Teams: Information on competition sites and medical facilities in Carbondale. Current/Returning Student-Athletes: Forms for returning Student-Athletes that must be completed and returned at the start of each academic year. Prospective Student-Athletes: If you are interested in participating in walk-on tryouts for a sport you must complete the forms found in this link. Please contact the team you are interested in trying-out for for specifics on try-out dates, times, and locations. Athletic Training Education Program: For those interested in becoming athletic trainers. If the links above have not completely answered your questions please feel free to contact any of the athletic training staff.
