    ATHENS, Ga. The Southern Illinois men’s swimming team wrapped up competition of the two day Bulldog Invitational hosted by the University of Georgia Sunday. The meet serves as a “last chance” to improve qualifying times before conference championships.

    The Salukis had just six swimmers in the field over the two day event. Freshman Josh LeClair led the way for Southern, finishing his 200-yard breaststroke in 2:12.56 during the preliminaries. Andrew Spencer followed closely behind, finishing the event in 2:15.13.

    In Saturday’s competition, Eddy Lynk (1:42.94) finished the 200-yard freestyle seventh while Evan Wiedeman took sixth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.09.

    The Saluki men have wrapped up their regular season and are set to travel to Buffalo, N.Y. for the MAC Championships. The three-day event will take place Mar. 6-8.
