AUSTIN, Texas - The Southern Illinois swimming and diving team wrapped up the second day of the three-day USA Swimming AT&T Winter Nationals on Friday. Hannah Pinion, Pamela Benitez, Till Pallmann and Calvin Kolar were all in action today.
Hannah Pinion was the first Saluki to swim, competing in the 400-yard individual medley. Pinion swam the event in 4:31.25. Pamela Benitez swam the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in 1:51.06. Till Pallmann also swam in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing 30th and in a time of 1:38.91. Calvin Kolar swam in the 100-yard breaststroke but was disqualified.
None of the swimmers qualified for tonight's finals session, which consists of the top 24 swimmers at each event. The final day of competition starts tomorrow at 9 a.m. CT. Fans can follow the action through a live stream, live stats or twitter.
