CARBONDALE, Ill. - Saluki football coach Dale Lennon and swimming & diving coach Rick Walker will perform as guest narrators for the Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra season finale concert performance on Tuesday, April 30 at 7:30pm in Shryock Auditorium.
Under the direction of Edward Benyas, the SISO concert will feature the world-premiere composition of of "Two Brothers," written by the hugely popular Chicago area composer, Jim Stephenson. The remainder of the program includes Richard Wagner's Prelude to "Die Meistersinger," Tchaikovsky's "Capriccio Italien," and the "Afro-American" Symphony by William Grant Still.
Also joining the SISO for this season finale is the Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra, led by Dr. Sara Edgerton. The combined orchestras bring nearly 100 musicians to the Shryock stage. (Both orchestras present the same program at the SEMO River Center on Monday, April 29).
Patrons at the concert will also be able to view a special Civil War exhibit in the Shryock upper balcony lobby presented by the John A. Logan Museum.
