Men's Swimming and Diving picked fourth in MAC Preseason Poll

    CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Southern Illinois men's swimming and diving team was picked to finish fourth in the Mid-American Conference in the preseason poll released Frday. The poll consists of votes from the coaches from the MAC.

    "It's nice to see we were picked higher than we were last year," said head coach Rick Walker. "I think that we have a hard-working group of guys, and this will fuel us to perform. We're just ready for the season to get underway."

    Eastern Michigan is the defending champion from 2013. The Eagles look to win their 32nd MAC championship this year while Miami seeks their 18th.

    Missouri State is in the second place spot in the poll, as they finished only six points behind EMU at the MAC Championship last year.

    Buffalo and SIU are tabbed to finish third and fourth this season. Rounding out the rest of the preseason poll is Miami in fifth, Ball State in sixth and Evansville in seventh.
