    McCall finished second in the hammer throw and fourth in the shot put, falling just short of qualifying in the latter as well.

    Career Notes
    Fortney was a consistent force for the Saluki female throwers during her four years in Carbondale. In her time as a Saluki, Fortney was named a second-team All-American three times, qualified for the national meet twice, qualified for the NCAA West Regional all four years, named All-MVC four times (all during her senior year), and finished ranked in the top ten all-time at SIU in the outdoor shot put (fourth, 16.80m/55-01.50), hammer throw (fifth, 64.74m/212-05), discus (ninth, 161-06), javelin (tenth, 132-04), indoor shot put (fourth, 16.28m/53-05.00) and weight throw (sixth, 20.41m/66-11.25). Most remarkable of all, Fortney improved over 20 feet in the shot put from when she first set foot on campus to her last competition. Fortney was also an excellent ambassador for Saluki Athletics in the classroom, where her efforts earned her three consecutive MVC Scholar-Athlete honors and two consecutive CoSIDA/Captial One Academic All-District honors.

    Second-team All-American in the hammer throw (tenth place) and shot put (14th place)...Two-time NCAA National and Regional Qualifier...Four-time All-MVC across both indoor and outdoor (shot put x2, weight throw, hammer throw)...Also scored in the discus outdoors (eighth place)...MVC Scholar-Athlete...Second-team CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District...MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week (Jan. 25)...Won nine titles across both the indoor and outdoor season (five indoors, four outdoors)...Did not finish worse than fourth in the shot put, did not finish worse than fifth in the weight throw and did not finish worse than seventh in the hammer throw during 2012-13...Set personal bests in the indoor shot put (16.28m), outdoor shot put (16.80m), hammer throw (64.74m) and the weight throw (20.41m)...Finishes her career ranked fourth in both the indoor and outdoor shot put, fifth all-time in the hammer throw and sixth in the weight throw...Threw in the shot put at the USATF Outdoor Championships.

    Competed in two events (shot put and weight throw) in eight meets during the indoor season...Never finished worse than ninth in any event as she notched 16 top ten finishes, 14 of them in the top five...Finished second five times (three times in the shot put and twice in the weight throw)...Best marks in both the shot put and weight throw came at the EIU Friday Night Special, where she threw for 19.62m and 15.74m, respectively...Recorded 13 top-five finishes in the outdoor season in nine meets, participating in four events (hammer throw, discus, shot put and javelin)...Second-team All-American in the shot put...All-MVC in the hammer throw with a third place mark of 59.40m...NCAA West Regional qualifier in the hammer throw and shot put...Best mark of the outdoor season came at the NCAA Divison I Championships, where she placed 16th in the nation with a throw of 16.20m in the shot put, the fourth best mark in Saluki history...Named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete team...Named to the CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District team.

    Competed in the MVC Indoor Championships earning a sixth and seventh place finish in the shot put and weight throw, respectively...notched 13 top10 finishes at seven other meets in the indoor season...Earned a spot in the NCAA West Regionals in the shot put, hammer throw, and discus throw...Recorded a personal best in the javelin throw with a distance of 40.34 at the Vanderbilt Invitational...Competed in five events at the MVC Outdoor Championships.

    Qualified for the USATF Junior Championships in the shot put, hammer throw and discus, finishing sixth, seventh and 16th, respectively, in those events...Claimed a spot in the NCAA West Regionals in the shot put, where she finished 42nd...Registered four top three finishes at the Illinois State Redbird Invitational, placing second in the discus and hammer throw, while claiming third in the javelin and shot put...Set a personal record in the javelin with a distance of 131-05 (40.06m) at the MVC Outdoor Championships...Overall, notched ten top five finishes between four events.
