ST. LOUIS - Bradley Sauer (Track and Field) and Holly Johnson (Swimming and Diving) have been named Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athletes of the Week, the conference announced Friday. The honor is for the week of Jan. 21 through Jan. 27.
Sauer, a sophomore, holds a 3.29 GPA in physiology. At the Rod McCravy Invitational a week ago, Sauer won the weight throw by nearly two-and-a-half feet. His throw (66-09.25) ranks second nationally.
Johnson, a sophomore, holds a 3.93 GPA in biological sciences. Johnson helped the Salukis to dual wins over Washington (Mo.) and Rhodes College last Saturday in St. Louis. She won the 100-yard breaststroke and was part of the 200-yard freestyle relay team that set a pool record.
