ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Saluki track and field will make the trek up north to Grand Valley State for the GVSU Big Meet this Friday and Saturday (Feb. 8-9).
In attendance will be 2,465 student-athletes from 64 different schools. Those schools include Missouri Valley foes Illinois State and Indiana State -- the latter of which is ranked No. 18 nationally in women's competition. Other Division I schools making the trip to Allendale include: Akron, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Illinois-Chicago, Loyola (Ill.), Marquette, Miami (Ohio), Michigan State (No. 24 in women's competition), Murray State, Northern Illinois, Notre Dame, SIU-Edwardsville, Toledo and Western Michigan.
Southern's men's and women's squads are coming off dominating wins at last week's SIU invitational. The Salukis have 14 student-athletes ranked in the top-three in the MVC in their respective events, and eight Salukis remain ranked in the top-50 in the nation.
Competition begins at 10:50 a.m. on Friday and at 10 a.m. Saturday morning.
