Salukis send two more to Pan-Am Games and World Championships

    Former Saluki Bianca Stuart (Bahamas) and freshman Nikolai Gall (Barbados) will compete at the IAAF World Championships and Pan-Am Junior Athletics Championships both in August, respectively.

    Stuart, a long jumper for the Bahamian national team, will compete in both the World Championships in Moscow (Aug. 10-18) and the Central American and Caribbean Athletics (CAC) Senior Championships, held July 5-8 in Michoacan, Mexico. Stuart -- who competed for the Bahamian national team at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London -- qualified for CAC in the long jump at 6.61m and the earned the "B" standard for the World Championships at 6.67m.

    Gall, a current Saluki freshman and reigning MVC outdoor 400 meter dash champion, will run in the Pan-American Junior Athletics Championships in Medellin, Columbia (Aug. 23-25) for the Barbados national team. Gall's qualifying mark in the 400 meter dash came from his winning time at the MVC Outdoor Championships on May 12 of 47.55 seconds. Gall will join fellow Saluki freshmen Josh Freeman (shot put) and Brandon Shemonia (10,000 meter run) -- both of Team USA -- in Columbia.
