CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Southern Illinois cross country teams will open the 2012 season with their annual SIU Early Bird races today in Carbondale.
This will solely be an intersquad meet, and the event will not be scored. The Early Bird will kick off with the women's 4K at 5:30, followed by the men's 5K at approximately 6:00 p.m.
The SIU men's team was picked by the Missouri Valley Conference to finish first in 2012, and the women were picked to finish fourth.
