PEORIA, Ill -- The Southern Illinois men's and women's cross country teams will compete in Peoria this Friday at the Bradley Classic.
In attendance will be Missouri Valley Conference squads Bradley, Creighton, Drake and Illinois State, as well as a handful of Mid-American Conference teams.
The Salukis are coming off a strong finish at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational two weeks ago in Chicago. The SIU men finished second, falling behind only No. 1-ranked Wisconsin by 11 points, and the women finished strong at sixth.
On the men's side, juniors Zach Dahleen and Brian Dixon are coming off two straight top-10 finishes to pace the Salukis. For the women, sophomores Sadie Darnell and Lacey Gibson, as well as freshman Kristen Levi have led the Saluki women this season, posting numerous top-10s in two team victories and one individual title (Darnell, Saluki Invitational on Sep. 22).
The women's 6K race is scheduled to begin at 4:25 p.m., and the men's 8K will start at approximately 5:05 p.m.
