2008: Played in 42 games and made 36 starts in his Saluki debut...Started nine games at catcher and 27 as designated hitter...Led the team in home runs (6) and ranked second in both doubles (13) and slugging percentage (.477)...Scored 22 runs, had 31 RBI and drew 26 walks...Ranked second on the team with nine multiple-RBI games...Had two hits in a game on five occasions...Homered in back-to-back games (at SE Missouri, 4/8; vs. Bradley, 4/11)...Posted a career-high three RBI and two doubles vs. Wisconsin-Milwaukee (4/4)...Hit safely in eight of his first 10 games of the season...Started 16 conference games.

Prior to SIU: Left-handed hitting catcher who hit .243 with four home runs and 16 RBI in 42 games at Austin Peay in 2007...Made 17 starts, including 13 as designated hitter, three at catcher and one at first base on a Governors team that went 40-22 overall and made the NCAA Tournament...Local product out of DuQuoin High School...Hit .350 or better in four prep seasons...Hit .553 with 12 home runs and 49 RBI as a senior...As a pitcher, he went undefeated at 6-0 with 62 strikeouts in 44.2 innings the same year...Three-time all-conference and all-south pick...Is among IHSA all-time career leaders in home runs (6th, 35), RBI (7th, 157), hits (14th, 185), games played (34th, 137) and walks (37th, 81).
