Prior to SIU: Played two years at Southwestern Illinois College...Hit .389 with seven home runs, 22 doubles, five triples, 45 RBI and 17 stolen bases as a sophomore in 2012...Named all-conference, and all-region first team in 2012...As a freshman at SWIC in 2011, hit .348 with six home runs and 29 RBI...Graduated from Granite City High School, where he played varsity baseball and basketball...Helped lead the Warriors to a regional championship as a senior in 2010...Named all-conference and all-area in 2009 and 2010...Hit .306 with six home runs and 34 RBI his senior season and played in the Illinois-Missouri All-Star Game...As a high school junior, hit .436 with five homers and 32 RBI and also pitched a perfect game.
