    Adds depth to first base after seeing considerable playing time there the last two seasons...led the state of Illinois with 16 home runs prior to starting his college career.

    2006: Played in 27 games and started eight...all eight of his starts were at first base...hit .233 with one run scored, a double and three RBI...had a career-high four hits when he went a near-perfect 4-for-5 with one RBI at Murray State (3/1)...put together a three-game hitting streak from Mar. 1-4...went 26 of his 27 games without committing an error.

    2005: Hit .257 (18-for-70) with seven runs, a double and seven RBI in 39 games, including 15 starts...seven of his starts were against conference opponents...boasted a .313 average with five runs and five RBI at home...had four multiple-hit games and drove in two runs three times...went 2-for-2 with a pair of walks against Tennessee-Martin (Mar. 29)...went 2-for-3 with a run scored, two RBI and a walk against Eastern Illinois (Apr. 12)...committed just two errors in 39 games...hit safely in six of seven games from Mar. 16-29...came up big in three games against Wichita State (May 6-8) when he hit .333 (4-for-12) with a RBI to help lead SIU to its first-ever series win against the Shockers.

    Pre-SIU: Three-time, first-team Big 12 Conference selection, a first-team Chicago Tribune all-state pick and a member of the IHSBCA all-state team at Bloomington High School...played in the Bloomington Pantagraph's All-Star Game, where he had his team's only RBI...ended strong prep campaign hitting .500 with 16 home runs and 53 RBI...ranks among all-time leaders in the state in career home runs (39), RBI (169) and grand slams (5)...garnered several Scholar-Athlete awards and was named Athlete-of-the-Week by both WHOI and WJBC in 2003.
