Prior to SIU: Hit .367 with 29 runs scored, eight doubles, one triple, five home runs, 29 RBI and seven stolen bases as a senior at McCutcheon High School...Went 9-5 with a 2.19 ERA, one save and 89 strikeouts in 90 innings on the mound...Was all-conference, all-state and all-area that year, as well...Set school records for most appearances (15) and complete games (9) in a season.
