2011 (Junior):Redshirted after breaking a bone in his wrist before the start of the season...Drafted in the 31st round (936th overall pick) by the Kansas City Royals on June 8, 2011 but did not sign. 2010 (Sophomore):Named to the All-MVC First Team after a season in which he finished in the Top 5 in the conference in eight different statistical categories...Played in 56 games, making 55 starts all at first base...Led the team with a .374 batting average, which was the third highest in the conference...Also finished third in the Valley with 64 RBIs, 13 home runs and 143 total bases...His 64 runs batted in tied for the second most in a year in program history, his 143 total bases is the third most and his 83 hits tied for the ninth most ever at SIU...Named to College Baseball Foundation National All-Star Lineup, March 3, after his weekend series at Jacksonville State where he went 7-for-15 with nine RBIs, seven runs scored, three doubles, three home runs and three walks...He had three doubles in two games, Feb. 28 at Jacksonville State and April 6 at SEMO, which tied the SIU single-game record...Had a career day on Feb. 28 against the Gamecocks, as he was 5-for-6 at the plate with the three doubles, four runs scored, six driven in and he recorded the first two-home run game of his career...His 20-game hitting streak from April 6-May 14 was the third longest in the MVC and the longest by a Saluki in seven seasons...Finished the year with 24 multiple-hit games, 19 multiple-RBI games and had five games with multiple extra-base hits...Struck out 52 times on the year and drew 33 walks...Had a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth on March 6 in a 13-12 win over Purdue. 2009 (Freshman): Received honorable mention All-MVC accolades as a freshman...His .325 batting average was the best among all MVC freshman...Started 28 games at first base and was the designated hitter in 17 games...Had 14 extra-base hits, including two triples that tied for the team lead and four home runs...Drove in 24 runs on the year and scored 32 times...Was SIU's top two-out hitter, as he batted .404 at the plate when there were two down...His .475 slugging percentage was the second highest on the team...Drew a team-high 24 walks...Had 16 multiple-hit games and seven games where he drove in multiple runs...Batted .354 in 96 plate appearances against non-conference opponents...Hit a three-run homer in a 8-7 win over Northern Iowa (3/20)...Second and final three-RBI game on the year came in a 4-3 loss at Creighton, when his bases-clearing triple in the third gave the Dawgs an early 3-0 lead...Sparked an eighth-inning comeback in a 7-6 win over Illinois State (4/25) in the game where he went 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored...His two-out, two-RBI triple in the bottom of the eighth inning lifted SIU past Illinois (4/15). He went 3-for-5 at the plate that day against the Illini and scored three runs...Was the first of three Salukis to draw three walks in a game, as he got three free passes in a 9-1 win over Murray State (4/1)...Went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and one run scored in a 9-4 win at Middle Tennessee (3/17). Prior to SIU: Two-time all-conference and all-area pick at Loyola Academy...Led the team in home runs as a senior...Hit over .400 in each of his last two prep seasons...Hit .472 with 10 home runs and 30 RBI as a junior.
