2009: One of just three Salukis to start in all 52 games in the field, as he was a mainstay at shortstop...Ranked second on the team with 61 hits and five home runs...Batted .295 on the year and drove in 31 runs...Tied for the team lead with two triples...Ranked third in the MVC with 166 defensive assists...Strung together an eight-game hitting streak from March 22-April 4...Had 18 multiple-hit games on the year, which was the second most on the club...Posted eight multiple-RBI games, including a personal-best four runs driven in during a 10-5 loss to Stetson (2/28). He hit two home runs in that game against the Hatters, which was one of just three multiple-home run games produced by a Saluki on the year...Was the Salukis' second-leading hitter in league play with a .316 average in 20 starts...Knocked in three runs against Missouri State in the MVC Tournament (5/21) when he went a perfect 4-for-4 with a double and a home run...Also had three RBI in a 11-1 win at Bradley (5/3) while going 3-for-5...Drove in eight runners in a four-game stretch (2/22-28)...Scored a season-high three runs in the first game of the season against James Madison (2/20).
Prior to SIU: Played two years of junior college baseball, including one at Lincoln Land (2007) and one at Heartland CC (2008)...Hit over .400 each of those years...Hit .401 with 58 runs scored, 16 doubles, four triples, seven home runs, 50 RBI and 11 stolen bases as a freshman in 2007....A year later, he hit .402 with 59 runs, 13 doubles, three triples, 14 home runs, 56 RBI and 23 stolen bases at Heartland...Earned MWAC Freshman Player-of-the-Year, NJCAA All-American, first-team all-conference and first-team all-district honors in 2007...Was first-team all-conference, all-district and all-region in 2008...First-team all-state, all-conference and the Lincoln Courier Area Baseball Player-of-the-Year as a senior at Olympia High School...Hit .512 with 51 runs, 19 doubles, two triples, eight home runs, 48 RBI and 15 stolen bases that year.
