Went to St. Viator High School, where he garnered all-East Suburban Catholic Conference and first-team all-area honors...registered 127 strikeouts to just 27 walks in 84.2 innings as a senior...also boasted a 2.23 ERA...played in the Chicago White Sox's all-star wooden bat game as a starting pitcher in each of the last two years...received a special invitation to a pitching workout at Wrigley Field prior to last year's draft.

Full name is Ryan Christopher Stobart...majors in Pre-Dentistry...born July 8, 1986...son of Michael and Carla Stobart...youngest of four children...has one brother, Mike (22), and two sisters, Kelly (30) and Dawn (26)...his uncle, Terry Brown was drafted by the San Francisco Giants.
