First-team all-state and all-conference pick at Prairie Central High School...named Bloomington Pantagraph Athlete-of-the-Year...hit .495 with 35 runs, 54 hits, 15 doubles, three triples, eight home runs and 33 RBI as a senior...on the mound, he compiled a 8-2 record and 2.30 ERA, while striking out 101 batters in 65 innings...also picked up four saves...first-team all-conference and all-state pick as quarterback of the Hawks' football team...set the area's single season passing record for touchdowns (46) and passing yardage (4,158)...ranks third overall in the history of Illinois High School football with yards passed in a season...was also a third-team all-state selection in basketball.
