2012 (Redshirt Sophomore): Missed the first seven weeks of the season rehabbing from shoulder surgery...Made his first appearance on April 13 at Dallas Baptist, throwing a scoreless inning with one strikeout...Threw a total of 7.1 innings in seven relief appearances...Did not record any decisions...Allowed just one earned run in his first four appearances...Pitched a season-high 2.2 innings against Saint Louis.
2011 (Redshirt):Redshirted after undergoing surgery on his shoulder in early January.
2010 (Freshman): Weld's 29 appearances were the second most on the team and the second most by a freshman in the Missouri Valley Conference...Led the team with five victories and posted a 5-4 record...Finished the year with a 5.68 ERA with a team-leading 57 strikeouts against 22 walks...Threw 58.2 innings, which was the second-most on the team...Recorded two saves...His first four appearances were games he started, and he then moved into the set-up role in the Saluki bullpen...His 12 appearances in MVC games led the team and was the fifth-most among all Valley pitchers...Picked up his first career win by throwing 4.2 scoreless innings of relief against Northern Illinois, March 20... Picked up his first career save against Bradley, April 3...Had a season-high five strikeouts in three innings during a 9-5 win at Wichita State, April 11...Recorded the save in SIU's 3-2 win at Illinois, May 4, by striking out three batters in the final two innings...Had four or more strikeouts in five of his appearances...Did not allow a single earned run in 15 of his 25 relief appearances and had seven-straight relief appearances from April 18-May 4 without allowing an earned run.
