    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Southern Illinois closer Todd Eaton is one of 75 student-athletes named to the initial watch list for the ninth annual National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award. The award recognizes the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I baseball.

    Eaton is entering his junior season after posting a 3-0 record and a 2.23 ERA along with nine saves in 2012. His 10 career saves rank him fifth in school history. He was a second-team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection last season and has been voted to the All-MVC Preseason Team in 2013.

    SIU will open the season with a three-game series beginning Friday at 3 p.m. at UAB.
