    Indiana University (3-3) outscored Southern Illinois University Carbondale (3-1) 63-43 in the second half to beat the Salukis 85-63. Leading 32-20 at the half, the Hoosiers pulled away from the Salukis with a 21-8 run to open the second half, and led by as many as 34 points. The Salukis could get no closer than 10 points.

    The Hoosiers hit a school record 15 three pointers in 24 attempts. Indiana was led by freshman Jared Jeffries, who scored 21 points on 9 of 14 shooting, including a 3 for 5 performance from the three point line. Jeffries also added six rebounds. Tom Coverdale (13 points) and Kyle Hornsby (12 points) also scored in double figures for the Hoosiers. Indiana shot 54.7 percent for the game.

    Southern Illinois was led by Jermaine Dearman's 17 points and 4 rebounds. Dearman scored all 17 points in the second half after spending time on the bench in the first half with foul trouble. Abel Schrader added 15 points and Toshay Harvey chipped in 11 for the Salukis. Kent Williams, SIU's leading scorer at 19 points a game, was held to just six points in the first half. Southern Illinois shot 39.1 percent for the game and were outrebounded 44 to 31.

    The Salukis will continue their three game road trip with a 7 p.m. contest at Southeast Missouri State University on Tuesday, December 5.
