A day after being selected Second-Team All-Conference, Southern Illinois University guard Anthony Beane was named to the Missouri Valley Conference's seven-man Most-Improved team. Saluki forward Jalen Pendleton was also tabbed for the MVC's All-Bench team.

Beane made a significant jump in performance over his freshman season, increasing his scoring average from 9.1 to 14.6. In fact, he improved in almost every category, including field goal percentage (.406 to .472), 3-point shooting (.313 to .403) and rebounding (2.5 to 3.1).

Pendleton is the team's third-leading scorer and came off the bench in 26 of the team's 31 games. He had an impressive run of games early in the season in which he topped 20 points in games versus Missouri S&T (24), Ball State (21) and SIUE (20).

The teams, which were selected by the league's newspaper beat writers, are comprised of a minimum of five student-athletes (top five vote-getters, plus ties) on each squad.
