No. 13 Salukis vs. Missouri State Game Notes

    Sept. 25, 2011

Jewel Hampton set a career high with 119 yards rushing. It was the first time at SIU he cleared the 100-yard mark and broke his career high of 114 yards that he attained at Iowa.

After 27 rushing attempts combined in the first two games, Hampton had 21 carries against Missouri State, one shy of his career high he set at Iowa.

Paul McIntosh had two rushing touchdowns, one shy of his career high and the most rushing touchdowns by a Saluki quarterback since McIntosh rushed for two in against Indiana State in 2009.

McIntosh became the second quarterback in Saluki history to rush for 1,000 career yards. With 60 yards rushing against Missouri State, McIntosh has 1,015 rushing yards in his career and is just 85 yards shy of Joel Sambursky's career quarterback rushing record of 1,100 career yards.

The Salukis recorded three interceptions, which is the sixth time in the last 26 games that SIU has recorded three interceptions. The last time Southern Illinois had three players with an interception was in a 38-35 overtime win against Northern Iowa last year. Jayson DiManche, James McFadden and Terrell Wilson each recorded his first career interception.

The attendance was the third largest crowd in the short history of Saluki Stadium.

Cam Fuller's six receptions doubled his previous career high, and his 120 yards receiving marked a career high. Fuller has had 100+yards in two of three games this season.
