    Saluki host Youngstown State on Homecoming weekend.

    John Goode was named the Director of Group Sales and Special Events for Saluki Athletics in March of 2013. He is a 2011 graduate of Southern Illinois University, where he played fullback on the football team.

    FOOTBALL BIO

    2011 (Senior): Did not play due to lingering back and neck injuries...Earned the MVFC's Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award, which requires a minimum 3.2 GPA in the previous two semesters.

    2010 (Junior): Second Team All-MVFC...Played in nine games and made six starts...Missed the first two games of the season recovering from an injury sustained in fall camp...Was the teams Offensive Player of the Game against Youngstown State, Sept. 25...Caught five passes for 39 yards and one touchdown...Primarily used as a lead blocker...Helped Saluki rushing game average 189.5 yards on the ground and 22 rushing touchdowns...Helped SIU's offense averaged 397.4 yards of total offense in league play...

    (2010 Preseason) Named to The Sports Network Preseason All-America Second Team...Rated as the top fullback in the FCS by Phil Steele and to his Preseason All-America First Team...Selected to the 2010 MVFC Preseason Team...Preseason First-Team All-MVFC Selection by Phil Steele.

    2009 (Sophomore): First Team All-MVFC selection...Member of the conference's academic honor roll...Played in all 13 games and started four...Tied for the team lead with four TD receptions...Caught seven passes for 35 yards...Had three carries for three yards...Caught two passes and had one touchdown in both the Marshall game and playoff win victory Eastern Illinois.

    2008 (Redshirt Freshman): Honorable mention All-MVFC and MVFC All-Newcomer team...Played in all 12 games and started six...Caught eight passes for 58 yards...Had his best game against South Dakota State, when he caught three passes for 23 yards... Named to the MVFC Academic Honor Roll.

    2007 (Freshman): Redshirted.

    High School: Garnered all-state honors and played in the Auto Zone Liberty All-Star Game at Christian Brothers High School.
