    CARBONDALE, Ill. - In celebration of 100 years of SIU football, Saluki Athletics is announcing the roster for the SIU All-Century football team. Each day for the past week, a different position has been announced. The final spots are revealed today with special teams players and coaches.

    The specialists on the All-Century team are punters Mark Gagliano and Scott Ravanesi, kickers Craig Coffin and Kyle Dougherty and return specialists Craig Turner and Larry Warner.

    The two head coaches on the All-Century team are Rey Dempsey and Jerry Kill.

    Gagliano
 was a consensus All-American in 1996. He was also a three-time All-Conference selection, earning first-team honors in 1996. He is third all-time in school history with an average of 40.92 yards per punt.

    Ravanesi 
was an All-Conference honorable mention in 2007 and was a three-time First-Team All-Conference selection. He is SIU’s all-time leader with a 42.56 yards per punt average.

    Coffin
 was a two-time All-American and a two-time Second-Team All-Conference selection. He is Southern’s all-time leader in points scored with 379 and second on the career list with 50 field goals made.

    Dougherty took home All-Conference honors twice in his career. He is SIU’s career leader with 56 made field goals and second behind Coffin with 366 career points.

    Turner
 was an Honorable Mention All-American in 2007 and a three-time First-Team All-Conference selection. He tops SIU’s career list with five career returns for a touchdown. He is second all-time with a career punt return average of 12.69 and third in school history with a kick return average of 24.82.


     

     

    Warner was a Payton Award finalist, First-Team All-American and First-Team All-Conference selection in 2008. He is Southern Illinois’ all-time leader with an average of 26.93 yards per kick return and second in return touchdowns with four.

    Dempsey is a member of the Saluki Hall of Fame and in 1983 led the Salukis to the only National Championship in school history. He also earned National Coach of the Year Honors that same year. In eight seasons at SIU, he compiled a career record of 54-37.

    In seven years, Kill guided the Salukis to three-straight Gateway Conference championships and five-straight playoff appearances. He was the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year in 2004 and the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year in 2007. Kill posted a 55-32 career record at SIU, giving him the highest winning percentage (.632) in school history.

    Members of the All-Century team will be recognized on the field during the Sept. 14 home game versus the University of Charleston at Saluki Stadium at 2 p.m.
