    Saluki offensive lineman Corey Boemer and linebacker Tyler Williamson have both been named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District team for District V.

    Boemer has started all nine games for the Salukis. He has started two games at left tackle and seven games at left guard. The junior has blocked for the SIU offense, which ranks third in the Missouri Valley Football Conference with an average of 394.6 yards per game. Boemer is majoring in biological sciences and has a cumulative GPA of 3.93.

    Williamson is a captain for the Salukis. He is second on the team with 46 tackles and 7.5 tackles for loss. The junior is tied for SIU’s all-time lead in career forced fumbles with six. He has forced three fumbles this year, which is tied for third in the nation. Majoring in management, he has a 3.73 cumulative GPA. 

    Boemer and Williamson are now both eligible for the Capital One Academic All-America team, which will be released on Thursday, Dec. 5. The Salukis have produced 14 Academic All-District players and five Academic All-Americans under head coach Dale Lennon, who is in his sixth season at SIU.
