ST. LOUIS – Southern Illinois tied for the conference lead with three representatives on the Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Academic team, the conference announced Wednesday. Junior offensive lineman Corey Boemer, senior punter Austin Pucylowski and junior linebacker Tyler Williamson all earned the honor. Junior kicker Chris Adams earned an honorable mention.

South Dakota State also had three first-team All-Academic selections. No other school in the conference had more than one.

Boemer started all 12 games for the Salukis in 2013, starting the first two games at left tackle before sliding over to left guard. He is majoring in biological sciences and has a 3.93 cumulative GPA. Boemer helped the Salukis to 384.9 yards of total offense per game, which ranked third in the conference. He also earned MVFC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors for the week of Oct. 7. He was a second-team MVFC All-Academic selection in 2012.

Pucylowski is a first-team selection for the second year in a row. He has a perfect 4.0 GPA and is majoring in biological sciences. Pucylowski is third in the MVFC with an average of 40.8 yards per punt. He pinned a conference-leading 43 percent (23-of-54) of his punts inside the 20-yardline and only had three touchbacks on the year. Earlier this week, he was named an All-Conference honorable mention.

Williamson started all 12 games for SIU. A team captain, he finished second on the team with 66 tackles and fifth in the MVFC with 13.0 tackles for loss. Williamson is majoring in management and has a 3.73 GPA. He tied for the team lead with 4.0 sacks on the year and tied for second in the conference with three forced fumbles. With career forced fumbles, he is tied for most in school history. Both Williamson and Boemer were named Capital One Academic All-District V last month.

Adams handled all kickoff duty for the first seven games of the season for SIU. He is also majoring in biological sciences and has a 3.59 GPA. He kicked off 39 times and had three touchbacks.
