HOOVER, Ala. - The Southern Illinois men's golf team is in a three-way tie for 15th after one round at the Samford Intercollegiate. Due to a frost delay, the teams were unable to finish the second round. Teams will finish the second round and play the third round tomorrow, starting with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
Jake Erickson and Caleb Harms both shot a 75 in the first round, which was good for the team lead and 39th overall in the 94-player field. Brandon Cauldwell (79), Jeffrey Miller (79) and Ben Patton (81) round out the Saluki five.
The team score of 308 in the first round tied with Murray State and Bowling Green. The Salukis lead the only other Missouri Vally Conference school in the field, Evansville, by six strokes.
