    The Southern Illinois men's golf team stands in seventh place out of 12 teams after Day One of the Grover Page Classic in Jackson, Tenn.

    The Salukis shot a 6-over par 296 in the second round, which was eight strokes better than their first-round score of 304. Standing 24-over par for the tournament, they trail front-runner Lipscomb by 33 strokes.

    Individually, SIU's Caleb Harms is tied for 15th place out of 78 golfers at 3-over. He was even-par in the second round. Both Drew Novara and Wade Thompson are 4-over par. Thompson had the best 18-hole score of the day for Southern with a 3-under 69 in the second round.

    The final round at the Jackson Country Club begins on Tuesday morning.
