OLD HICKORY, Tenn. - The Southern Illinois men's golf team is in fourth place after two rounds at the Big Blue Intercollegiate, hosted by Tennessee State University. Jake Erickson and Jeffrey Miller shot second-round 70s and are both in the top 10 individually.
Murray State leads the tournament by six strokes. SIU sits 17 strokes back of the leader and 11 strokes behind second-place Tennessee Tech. Erickson is four strokes back of individual leader Christopher Schwartz of Tennessee-Martin; Miller sits five strokes back of the leader.
All eight Saluki upperclassmen competed in the tournament. George Tate (148, +4), Jared Harp (150, +6) and Joe Goelzhauser (151, +7) round out the Saluki five. Brandon Cauldwell (147, +3), Jamie Stocks (150, +5) and Richie Williams (151, +6) are competing as individuals.
The final round of the 10-team, 63-player tournament will take place tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. CT.
