BUCHANAN, Tenn. - The Southern Illinois men's golf team is in fourth place after 36 holes at the Skyhawk Fall Classic. The Salukis are eight shots back of the team leader and will attempt to win the tournament for the second straight year during tomorrow's final round. The round starts at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Brandon Cauldwell leads the field individually, shooting six-under through two rounds. Cauldwell shot a second-round 67, the lowest single-round score in the tournament so far. The round also tied Jake Erickson and eight others for the seventh-best round in school history.

A win by Cauldwell would be the second-straight individual title for Southern at the Skyhawk Fall Classic; Jake Erickson won the tournament last year. A win would also be Cauldwell's second tournament win of the season. Brian Norman is the only other Saluki men's golfer to win two tournaments in a season.

Jake Erickson (145) is tied for 22nd, Caleb Harms (146) and Jeffrey Miller (146) are tied for 30th, and Drew Novara (149) is tied for 45th to round out the team. George Tate (154) is tied for 66th and is playing as an individual.

John A. Logan Community College leads the tournament by five strokes after posting a 567 through 36 holes. The final 18 holes will begin tomorrow with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

The 14-team, 78-player tournament is taking place on the Par-72, 6,685-yard Paris Landing Golf Club.
