    Rigby Earns Second MVC Athlete of the Week This Year

    First SIU player to earn the honor twice in one season since 2011

    2010-11: Posted a 14-4 spring singles record at No. 1 singles, which ranked second on the team...Started the season off 6-0 before falling to Georgia Southern's J. Melian Puigventos on March 14...Went on a four match winning streak from March 15 to April 6...Won the MVC Tennis Player of the Week Award twice during the weeks of February 11 and March 1...Was named to the 2011 MVC All-Select Team...Began his freshman season off with a 17 match winning streak in the fall, finishing 17-1 and taking three tournament titles along the way...In his first collegiate tournament he won the Purdue Invitational Flight A title, besting players from Iowa, Purdue, Notre Dame and Western Michigan to win the title...His 17 fall wins now ranks No. 1 all-time at SIU for fall singles wins in a single season...Compounded with his spring record and MVC Individual Tournament record, Fabik went 32-7 overall, which ranks second all-time at SIU in singles wins for a season.
