Salukis will seek their first title since 2009 when they won two singles championships.
Vidal is in his third season as men's tennis assistant coach in 2011-12 after a three year stint on the courts for the Salukis.
2008-09: Went 14-8 in singles, including a 6-0 mark against MVC opponents...Garnered a 11-8 record in doubles play, as he went 10-8 while being paired with Sebastian Rubiano...Was named to the MVC All-Conference and Academic All-Conference teams.
2007-08: Compiled a 16-10 record in No. 2 singles...In doubles, paired with Mariano Restrepo or Chase Miller, finishing with a 9-12 mark...Champion of flight three singles at the Individual MVC Tournament, becoming the first individual conference champion for SIU since 1991...Named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete team.
2006-07: Posted a 13-3 singles record in his first season as a Saluki...Collected most of his wins at No. 3 (8-2), but went 1-0 at 4, 5 and 6...Paired up with Rodrigo Lama for a 10-5 doubles record and Serio Sanchez for a 1-0 doubles record.
Prior to SIU: Posted a 19-3 singles record and an 11-3 doubles record in one year at Tyler Junior College...Ranked No. 13 in singles and No. 10 in doubles at the junior college level in the US...Named NJCAA Distinguished Academic All-American and NJCAA Academic All-American.
Personal: Born on July 1, 1986...Graduated in Spring 2009 with a bachelor's degree in business management...Son of Yves Vidal and Fabienne Bernard...Engaged to Ame Blacketer, assistant coach for the SIU Women's Tennis team...held a 4.0 GPA throughout his undergraduate career.
