    Final Stats

    WICHITA, Kan.-- The No. 3 Southern Illinois University men's tennis team ended its season at the Missouri Valley Conference semifinals after suffering a 4-0 loss against No. 2 Wichita State Saturday evening.

    The Salukis fell behind early as SIU dropped the doubles point to the Shockers at the start of the match. Matheus Pereira and Tin Ostojic defeated Brandon Florez and Martijn Admiraal 8-5 in the No. 1 doubles match. The Shocker twosome of Ilija Cuic and Erick Reyes sealed the doubles point topping Badr Cherradi and Jonny Rigby 8-2.

    Southern Illinois found no relief in singles play dropping its matches in the No. 1 position before falling at No. 5 and No. 6 singles resulting in WSU's victory.

    SIU concludes its season with a 13-6 overall record and a 6-2 mark in Valley play.

    Wichita State will advance to the MVC Championship match on Sunday against No. 1 Drake. The top-ranked teams will get underway at 2 p.m.
