    CHARLESTON, Ill. -- The Southern Illinois men's tennis team will travel to Charleston, Ill., on Wednesday to face in-state non-conference rival Eastern Illinois.

    First Serve: 3 p.m.

    Southern Illinois: Dann Nelson (Seventh year; 112-91 overall; 93-84 in Division I; 75-70 at SIU)
    Eastern Illinois: John Blackburn (Seventh year; 55-80 at EIU in Men's Tennis)

    Southern Illinois: The Salukis (5-11, 0-1 MVC) lost their Missouri Valley season opener to Wichita State, 6-1, on April 7.
    Eastern Illinois: The Panthers (3-10, 2-4 OVC) defeated Ohio Valley Conference foe SIU-Edwardsville, 5-2, on April 7.

    Prior History
    The Salukis are 4-1 against Eastern Illinois under head coach Dann Nelson, dating back to his first season in 2006. However, the Panthers have their entire team from last year that was fielded against the Salukis, whereas Southern only retained five in 2012, including the injured Jorge Cavero. Last year, the Salukis defeated the Panthers 5-2 in Carbondale.
