MARIETTA, Ga.-- The Southern Illinois University men’s tennis program has been ranked 14th in the nation in recruiting by the Tennis Recruiting Network.

The list recognizes the Top 25 mid-major men’s recruiting classes through May 24.

The Salukis will welcome two new recruits in the fall. Michal Kianicka of Slovakia and Filip Aleksic of Serbia.

“I am very excited to add Michal and Filip to our program,” said SIU head coach Dann Nelson. “Both players should make an immediate impact on our program for the upcoming season and for years to come.”

The two players will join a team that finished the 2013 season with a 13-6 overall record and a 6-2 mark in the Missouri Valley Conference.

“The ranking shows the commitment our staff and administration has to bring in talented student-athletes."
