A hard worker who went from walking on the squad as a freshman to earning a scholarship and becoming one of the best vaulters in the Missouri Valley Conference. Placed third in MVC Indoor Championships (15-0) in 2001. Improved throughout the outdoor season, placing second at the All Sport Relays (15-6), first at the SMS Invitational (15-0) and tied for fifth at the MVC Outdoor Championships (14-0).

Danville H.S.: Finished seconds at state in 1997 in the pole vault. All-state four times with a personal best of 15-1. Qualified for state meet six times. Lettered in wrestling and cross country also.

Personal: Majoring in mechanical engineering. Son of Kirk and Cheryl Harrell. Born March 6, 1979.
